Lech Poznań have strengthened their attacking options with the loan signing of Nigerian winger Taofeek Ismaheel from Górnik Zabrze on a season-long deal that includes an option to buy.
Ismaheel, 25, is no stranger to the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, having been a regular feature for Górnik since his arrival last year. His versatility on either flank and blend of pace and physicality were key factors in Lech’s pursuit.
“Taofeek Ismaheel is a player with good dribbling and physical attributes. He knows the Polish league well and was a regular starter for Górnik Zabrze,” Lech Poznań Sporting Director Tomasz Rząsa explained.
“He’s fully fit, which was crucial for the coaching staff. The Nigerian can play on both sides of midfield and will fit in perfectly with our tactical setup.”
Ismaheel began his European journey in Norway, where he broke through with a standout season at Fredrikstad, tallying 13 goals and 7 assists. That form paved the way for spells at Valerenga and Belgian side Beveren, before moving to French club Lorient.
He switched to Górnik Zabrze in July 2023, where he impressed with his direct style and work rate. Now, with Lech Poznań aiming to mount a strong push domestically and in Europe, Ismaheel is expected to bring added competition and creativity on the flanks.
