GSM Preseason: 3SC face DON FA as Saki United tackle VIA FA in opener

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) will trade tackles with DON Football Academy on Wednesday, a day after the tournament opener between Saki United and VIA Football Academy.

The draw for the 2022 Governor Seyi Makinde Pre-season tournament was conducted at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday to herald the commencement of the tourney.

On Tuesday curtain will be raised on the tournament as Saki United in the opener lock horns with VIA Football Academy while Oyo State Housing Corporation FC take on Oyo ‘A’.

On Match-day 2, Wednesday, the defending champions, Shooting Stars and  DON FA will settle scores on the pitch as Cornerstone FC take on OMA FA.

Ilaji FC on Thursday will take on Saki United while Oyo ‘A’ face New Starlet. On Friday, it will be DON FA versus Alo FA as OMA FA vs Demmyspoet FC take center stage on Match-day 4.

 Other fixtures are: VIA FA vs Ilaji FC, New Starlet vs Oyo State Housing Corporation FC.  On Sunday, ALO FA versus Shooting Stars as Demmyspoet FC  take on Cornerstone FC.

The 2022 Governor Seyi Makinde Pre-season Tournament marks the third edition of the football championship organized by Oyo State Football Association in conjunction with Oyo State Sports Council.

The draw for annual football tourney is scheduled today, at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba with twelve teams to participate.

Shooting Stars are the defending champion having won the first and second edition (back to back). The Oluyole Warriors beat Oyo State Housing Corporation FC last year final to clinch the trophy.

Three teams from the Ibadan Football Association (IFA) League will be participating in this year edition while non league clubs have been regulated as well.

The Twelve teams are; Shooting Stars, , Ilaji FC, Cornerstone FC, OYSHC, Alo FA, DON FA and Oyo ‘A’ FC.

Others are New Starlet, Saki United FC, OMA FA, Demmyspoet FC and VIA FA.

The draw for the third edition matches took place on, November 6, 2022 starting at 1:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Tennis Court Hall of the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Oyo State Football Association, Oyo state sports council, football stakeholders, representatives of each teams and Media houses are expected at the event.
