Heartland FC are Imo State FA Cup champions

Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Heartland FC has won the 2023 Imo State FA Cup following the Naze Millionaires defeated Fr. Eburuaja FC 3-0 in the final match on Tuesday.
Chibuzor Ekeocha gave the NNL side the lead at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
Fabian Omaka doubled Heartland FC’s lead while Chiediebere Ajoku made it 3-0.
Heartland and Fr. Eburuaja will represent Imo State at the national finals of the FA Cup for men.
Heartland Queens had earlier recorded a 5-4 win on penalties over First Mahi Babes to retain the women’s category of the 2023 Imo State Cup.
The game ended 0-0 after regulation time as the finalists will fly the flag of Imo State at the national finals.
They joined Abia State FA Champions which was decided last weekend as Enyimba claimed the title.
Other states will crown their winners this week as representatives to the national finals.
