By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Matchday Two of the HerGame 2025 Women’s Football Tournament served up an action-packed Sunday at the Area 3 Pitch in Abuja, delivering emphatic victories, surprise results, and strong statements from early contenders.

Horvel Angels produced the standout performance of the day, ruthlessly dismantling EUPA Queens in a 10–0 masterclass that showcased their attacking depth and intent in the tournament. Defending champions FOSLA Academy were equally dominant, cruising to a 6–0 win over Ladi Kwali Queens to continue their title defence in convincing fashion.

Generation Next also strengthened their credentials with a sweeping 5–0 victory against Shooting Queens, asserting themselves as one of the teams to watch in this year’s edition.

Elsewhere, BIA Angels secured a hard-fought 2–1 win over Pitchwild FC, while Nazareth Queens edged Gwagwalada Ladies 2–0. SIK Paragon recorded a solid 2–0 triumph over M Squared FA, and Jeremiah Angels pulled off one of the day’s upsets with a narrow but impressive 1–0 win against Diamond Queens.

Nasarawa Shooting Stars were awarded a 3–0 walkover after Emirates Queens failed to honour their fixture.

Attention now shifts to Monday, December 1, 2025, with another full slate of fixtures expected to shape the tournament’s emerging hierarchy. Key matches include Diamond Queens vs. SIK Paragon at 10:00am, BIA Angels vs. Nazareth Queens, and a potentially tense meeting between M Squared FA and Jeremiah Angels. FOSLA Academy, fresh from their six-goal brilliance, will battle EUPA Queens, while high-flying Horvel Angels take on Ladi Kwali Queens.

Endorsed by the FCT Football Association, the HerGame Tournament continues to spotlight emerging female talent and strengthen grassroots women’s football across the North Central region, with competition intensifying as the week-long event progresses.
