Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup: Eletu Queens set up final clash with Imo Strikers

Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens pipped Delta Babes 1-0 in a clash of two teams from second tier Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship to reach the final of the maiden Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup on Tuesday.
A 40th-minute striker from Ikediuba Peace settled the contest despite Delta Babes’ attempt to level matters.
Earlier on Monday, Imo Strikers defeated Moje Queens 9-8 on penalties in the first semi-final match. The game ended 1-1 after regulation time with Miracle Ezeka’s 52nd-minute goal canceling out Victoria Idehen’s tenth-minute strike.
As it stands, Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens will face Imo Strikers in the final on Wednesday at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State capital iwith the winner of maiden’s final to smile home with 500,000 Naira.
The beaten finalist will get 300,000 Naira while the third-placed team will be rewarded with a sum of 200,000 Naira.
Seven teams started the journey to be crowned maiden Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup Champions; Anambra Angels, Castmog Academy, Delta Babes, Fortress Ladies, Imo Strikers Queens, Moje Queens, and Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens.
