Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup: Imo Strikers reach final after Moje Queens triumph

2022 Soccer Queens Cup winners, Imo Strikers have made it to the final of the maiden Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup.
The second-tier Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Championship side edged fellow Championship outfit, Moje Queens on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Victoria Idehen scored the first goal of the game after her right-footed shot hit the back of the net beyond Okereke Stella in the tenth minute.
It took Miracle Ezeka’s equaliser in the 52nd minute off a goal-mouth scramble from a corner kick to take the game into penalties.
Miracle Ezeka’s, Abigail Bassey, Okon Peace, Patra Oparanmegwa, Achifula Harmony, Matthew Monica, Damian Chiamaka, Ozuruigbo Ebubechi, and Sunday Christiana all converted Imo Strikers’ penalties which reached sudden death as both sides were not separated after five spot kicks each.
Ayenigba Margret, Idehen Victoria, Duru Francesca, James Tolulope, Olasele Regina, Ismail Zainab, Morenike Kabirat, and Divine John scored Moje Queens spot kicks.
Afolabi Mary, unfortunately, missed Moje Queens’ ninth penalty to hand Imo Strikers a 9-8 win on penalties.
Imo Strikers will face the winner of the semi-final clash between Delta Babes and Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens which will take place on Tuesday.
