Akwa United Assistant Coach, Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, has expressed confidence that the team will avoid relegation from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) this season after a crucial 2-0 victory over Shooting Stars on matchday 29.
The win boosted the Promise Keepers’ survival hopes as they continue their fight to stay in the top flight and Nwachukwu is optimistic about the team’s recent form.
“There are smiles on the faces of everybody. The boys are trying, and in every game, there is improvement.”
With a vital away match against Kwara United on the horizon, Nwachukwu promised that Akwa United will not drop points again, both at home and on the road.
Currently 19th on the table with 31 points from 29 matches, Akwa United faces a crucial encounter in matchday 30 as they look to secure survival and avoid relegation.
