Ivan Toney matches Saudi Pro League scoring record with Al Ahli double
Ivan Toney moved to the top of the Roshn Saudi League scoring charts after his two goals helped Al Ahli beat Al Khaleej 4-1 in the 11th round of the season.
The England striker now has 13 goals in the competition, six more than his nearest challengers. Al Qadsiah forward Mateo Retegui and Al Ittihad player Youssef En-Nesyri have each scored seven times.
Toney’s contribution against Al Khaleej secured more than an emphatic victory for Al Ahli. His brace also took him level with the highest individual goals tally recorded after 11 rounds of a single Roshn Saudi League season, according to football statistics provider Opta.
That mark has previously been reached by several of the competition’s most prominent forwards, placing Toney alongside players who have established notable scoring records in Saudi Arabia.
Omar Al Somah, the former Al Ahli striker and Syria international, scored 13 goals after the opening 11 rounds in both the 2014-2015 and 2016-2017 seasons. During that period, he was regarded as one of the league’s most dangerous attackers and consistently among its leading scorers.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix also reached 13 goals after 11 games for Al Nassr during the 2025-2026 season. Toney has now joined that select group, underlining the strength of his start to the current campaign.
The latest achievement further strengthens Toney’s position as the league’s leading scorer, with his 13-goal haul giving him a clear advantage over Retegui and En-Nesyri. His two goals formed part of Al Ahli’s four-goal performance against Al Khaleej and continued a prolific opening to his Saudi Arabian career.
By matching the record set by Al Somah, Ronaldo and Joao Felix, Toney has established himself among the most productive forwards in Roshn Saudi League history after the first 11 rounds of a season.
