Nigeria forward, Jennifer Echegini had hands in two of PSG’s four goals as they defeated Montpellier 4-1 in Matchday 15 of the 2024/25 French Premiere Ligue women on Saturday.

Grace Geyoro scored the opening goal of the game in the 23rd minute from a rebound at the Paris Saint-Germain Training Centre.

In the 35th minute, former Portland Thorns and Gotham FC player Crystal Dunn set up Echegini, who released a left-footed shot from outside the box into the back of the net to double the lead.

Four minutes after the hour mark, Echegini released a long pass to Sakina Karchaoui who scored her side’s third goal.

Romee Leuchter rounded up the goals for the host from the penalty spot in the 87th minute.

Cameroon’s Nina Ngueleu pulled a goal back for the travelers in the 90th minute.

Echegini was replaced by Griedge Mbock in the 69th minute after scoring her fourth league goal with her third assist in nine games.

Her compatriot, Ifeoma Onumonu was also replaced by Rose Kadzere in the 69th minute.

PSG maintained their third position on the log with 35 points after 15 games, eight points behind leaders Lyon, and a point short of second-placed Paris FC.

They will next face DFCO Dijon on March 1, 2025, after the international break; the same day, Montpellier will visit Stade de Reims.
