John Obi Mikel boastful of his trophy cabinet to Victor Osimhen

Former Nigeria captain, Mikel John Obi missed no chance to boast of his title cabinet while hosting Victor Osimhen on his Podcast.
The 35-year-old, who had an illustrious career both at club and international levels recently launched his Podcast called “The Obi One Pod” where his latest guest was 8th-ranked Ballon d’Or player Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen made history as the first Nigerian in the Ballon d’Or top ten, breaking Nwankwo Kanu’s 11th-position record in 1997.
However, Mikel who won most of his club honors with Chelsea is Nigeria’s most decorated player.
He won four FA Cup titles to go with his two Premier League wins and also claimed the UEFA Champions League in 2011/12 and the UEFA Europa League the following year. He won 10 trophies in all in his stay at Chelsea.
The midfielder was also a member of the Nigerian Dream Team that picked up a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics and won the AFCON as the team captain in 2013.
Meanwhile, he acknowledged the emergence of new talents like Osimhen and the great things they are doing but reaffirmed his achievements and contributions as he emphasized his position as the most successful Nigerian player.
“He needs to break my f**king records first,” Obi said, speaking about Osimhen’s position in Nigerian football, in a cut posted on X.
“I am still the most successful and decorated football player from Nigeria.”
