Joy Omewa scores again as Fortuna Hjorring defeat Brondby

Nigeria forward Joy Omewa continued her impressive scoring form as Fortuna Hjorring defeated Brondby 2–0 in the Danish Women’s League on Saturday.

Omewa, last season’s league top scorer, came off the bench in the 58th minute, replacing Nikoline Nielsen, and made an instant impact.

The Nigerian forward broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, confidently converting from the penalty spot to put the hosts ahead.

Florentina Olar-Spanu added a second goal deep into stoppage time (93rd minute) to seal the victory for the reigning champions.

Omewa has now scored seven league goals this season as Fortuna Hjorring continue their title chase.

The club currently sit second on the log with 21 points, three behind leaders HB Køge.

Next up for Fortuna Hjorring is the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup return leg against Vorskla Poltava on October 15, 2025, after the first leg ended 1–1 away from home.
