Julius Emefile has signed a new long-term contract with FC Midtjylland, keeping the Denmark Under-20 international at the Superliga club until the end of 2031.

The 19-year-old forward agreed fresh terms one month after scoring his first senior hat-trick, finding the net three times against Sundby BK in the third round of the DBU Pokalen.

Emefile has made 15 appearances for FC Midtjylland’s first team and has scored five goals. His new deal represents a significant commitment from the club to a player who has made a rapid impression since joining from FC Copenhagen.

The Nigerian-Danish attacker spent the formative years of his career with Danish giants FC Copenhagen before moving to FC Midtjylland two years ago. He has since progressed into the first-team squad and earned international recognition with Denmark Under-20s.

FC Midtjylland’s official website described Emefile as an exciting forward who brings together speed, physical strength and direct attacking play. He is also noted for his one-on-one ability, goalscoring threat and capacity to influence the outcome of matches.

One of his most memorable moments for the club came in April 2026, when he scored a dramatic winner after coming off the bench against Aarhus GF. FC Midtjylland had fallen behind in the match before Emefile struck in the third minute of stoppage time to complete the comeback.

His latest contract follows that growing contribution and the hat-trick against Sundby BK, which came in only his second season with the club.

Although Emefile is provisionally cap-tied to Denmark, his international future has also attracted attention because of his Nigerian heritage. The winger follows the Super Eagles and Nigeria’s marquee striker Victor Osimhen on social media.

The new agreement secures Emefile’s future with FC Midtjylland for more than five years and gives the club an extended opportunity to develop a young forward who has already begun to make an impact in senior football.
