On Friday, June 6th, 2025, Stanley Nwabali laid his parents to rest in Egbema, and the presence of Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu served as a significant source of support.

Kanu’s attendance represented a strong symbol of solidarity, providing comfort in a moment of deep sorrow.

In addition to Kanu, Chiamaka Nnadozie, another notable figure in Nigerian football, was also in attendance.

Her presence further highlighted the unity and compassion that exists within the football community.

The support from both Kanu and Nnadozie illustrated the strength of the connections within the sport, offering Nwabali solace during this challenging time.

Nwabali played for Enyimba International FC in the Nigeria Premier Football League before moving abroad to play for Chippa United in South Africa serving as a leeway to feature for Nigeria’s senior men’s national team.

He also played for Go Round FC, Wikki Tourist, Lobi Stars, and Katsina United.
