Kelechi Iheanacho passes Middlesbrough medicals ahead of move

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho is close to a move to English Championship side Middlesbrough.

The Sevilla striker had passed his medical with Middlesbrough according to Sky Sports on Monday.

He is set to join the English Championship Club on loan until the end of the season.

Boro will also have an option to buy the Super player.

The former Leicester City FC joined Sevilla this season and had played nine games in Spanish La Liga without scoring.

He spent most of his Club career at Leicester City, a team he joined from another English side, Manchester City.

He scored five goals with an assist to help the Foxes win the English Championship title last season.

The feat also ensured the return of the then Enzo Maresca’s side to the top-flight English Premier League.

Notably, Yakubu Aiyegbeni was a key player with Boro in the English Premier League.
