Kelechi Iheanacho returns as Celtic travel for Europa League clash against Feyenoord

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Kelechi Iheanacho has travelled with the Celtic squad ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Europa League fixture against Feyenoord, signaling his return from injury.

The Nigeria international trained with his teammates on Wednesday for the first time since sustaining a hamstring injury in last month’s clash with Sturm Graz. The setback had sidelined the 29-year-old for six consecutive matches across all competitions.

Iheanacho is now in line to make his first appearance under interim head coach Martin O’Neill, who took charge during the striker’s spell on the sidelines.

The forward joined Celtic on a free transfer in late September and has made an immediate impact. The versatile attacker has scored three goals in eight appearances for the Scottish Premiership champions.

His return provides a timely boost for Celtic as they look to strengthen their campaign in Europe.
