By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Austrian side, SV Reid has announced the termination of Nigeria midfielder, Kingsley Michael’s loan deal.
Michael has been on loan with the Austrian team from the Italian side, Bologna since August 2022 before his loan deal earlier scheduled to expire on 30 June 2023 was terminated at the end of April.

The situation might not be unconnected with Michael made some comments on Instagram Live after the Austrian side’s loss to fellow relegation strugglers Hartberg.
During his stint with Reid, the 23-year-old midfielder played 14 competitive games for the Upper Austrians and the Abuja Academy product is expected to return to Thiago Motta’s side, where his contract runs until 2025.
The former youth international represented Nigeria national under-17 football team at the 2015 African U-17 Championship, where Nigeria finished 4th, and 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, which Nigeria won.
Michael scored a goal in the 3-0 quarterfinal victory over Brazil, but did not appear in the semifinal or final. He made his senior debut for Nigeria on 7 September 2021 in a World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde, a 2-1 away victory.
