Las Palmas Officially Unveil Imoh Ezekiel, Hand Rio Olympics Star No.14 Jersey

Spanish LaLiga outfit Las Palmas has formally announced the acquisition of Nigerian forward Imoh Ezekiel, as confirmed by Completesportsnigeria.com. The club’s unveiling of Ezekiel, who arrived as a free agent, was made official after the player signed with Las Palmas earlier in the day, solidifying his presence within the team.

“Nigerian striker Imoh Ezekiel will be a UD Las Palmas player until June 2019 and will occupy wear the number 14 jersey,” proclaimed Las Palmas on their official website, marking the culmination of the transfer deal. The announcement highlighted Ezekiel’s status as an international Olympic footballer, particularly noting his participation with Nigeria in Brazil and his subsequent status as a free agent following his departure from Konyaspor.

The 24-year-old forward’s journey to Las Palmas marks a new chapter in his career, having encountered challenges due to unpaid wages at his previous club, which led to his free-agent status since December.

Ezekiel’s inclusion at Las Palmas extends the club’s Nigerian contingent, with the former U-23s winger joining the ranks of compatriots Oghenekaro Etebo and Emmanuel Emenike, who joined the club in the final phase of the January transfer window.

Renowned for his contributions during Nigeria’s 2016 Olympic campaign in Brazil, Ezekiel brings a wealth of experience garnered from spells at prominent clubs such as Standard Liege, Al Arabi SC, Anderlecht, and Konyaspor.

As Las Palmas formally embraces Ezekiel into their fold, the allocation of the number 14 jersey symbolizes the beginning of his tenure with the Spanish side. The unveiling underscores Las Palmas’ intent to reinforce their squad with versatile talent, anticipating Ezekiel’s impact on their performance in LaLiga.
