Lillestrom want serious interested clubs to break bank for Jerome Akor

By Saheed Afolabi
Lillestrom has revealed that they are ready to sell Nigeria star, Jerome Akor for big money in the summer.
The Norwegian side are optimistic that the forward won’t be sold cheap because they classify him as their priced asset after the Nigerian found the back of the net five times this season since returning from a shoulder injury.
And Lillestrom sporting director, Simon Mesfin admits many clubs have demanded for the services of Akor, assuring that they are only ready to sell for the right price.
“I have said it before that we could sell him for quite a lot of money,” Mesfin was quoted by Score Nigeria.
“We could have sold him already last year if he hadn’t been injured, but there were also clubs that called and asked about his situation even after he had shoulder surgery.”
Akor however played down transfer speculation surrounding his future in the club as he disclosed that he’s more focused on his career and staying injury free as well as the blossoming partnership with Thomas Olsen.
“I can’t answer that, you have to ask Mesfin (sports director) about that. Right now I’m focused on playing, helping, scoring and staying injury-free,” he said.
“In pre-season, we both played alone at the top, so there have been a few new things to deal with now at the start of the season, but it has gone very well so far. The fact that we are now playing together at the top gives us a lot of energy.”
Lillestrom have played five matches in the Norwegian league this season and scooping nine points in the process. They will visit Odd on Friday 12th of May.
