Nigerian goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye is delighted with another chance to play for Super Eagles again.
The Udinese shot stopper was included in Nigeria’s 23 man list for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic next month.
The 24-year-old had not received a call-up since the friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique last November.
The former Watford shot stopper said it is always a great honour to play for the three-time African champions.
“I am very happy to return to the national team. it is a great honor for me and my family to play for Nigeria,” Okoye told Udinese official website.
The Super Eagles will host Bafana Bafana at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Friday, June 7 before traveling to Abidjan for the clash against Squirrels of Benin three days later.
