Man City’s Manuel Obafemi Akanji flaunts Super Eagles tattoo during Afcon 2023

Manchester City defender of Nigerian heritage, Manuel Obafemi Akanni has tattooed the logo of the Super Eagles on his arm to celebrate the team’s amazing campaign at the concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Super Eagles lost 2-1 to the host nation to finish second at the 34th edition of the continent’s showpiece.
Born in Neftenbach, Switzerland, to a Swiss mother and a Nigerian father, the Manchester City defender opted to represent his mother’s land.
Akanji made his debut for the Swiss senior squad in a 2018 World Cup qualifying match 2–0 victory over the Faroe Islands on June 9, 2017, playing the entire ninety minutes.
However, the 28-year-old still hasn’t forgotten his Nigerian roots. He proudly celebrated Manchester City’s first Champions League glory by wrapping the Green and White flag of Nigeria around his waist.
The mental maths genius has now flaunted a new tattoo that showcased the logo of the Nigeria national team.
