Manchester United offered chance to sign Victor Osimhen – Reports

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Victor Osimhen in January and Napoli are open to a player exchange deal according to TBR Football.

Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray and is having a superb season in the Turkish Super Lig scoring nine times in 11 matches for the Lions.

But, his time in Turkey could be coming to a close with sources revealing to TBR Football that several Premier League clubs have been made aware of the 25-year-old’s availability on a permanent deal in January.

Manchester United have been approached with the chance to sign Victor Osimhen and the club’s footballing department, currently led by Jason Wilcox, are assessing their options, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Ruben Amorim’s start to life at Old Trafford has highlighted the need for a new number nine with Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee all struggling to make an impact.

The Super Eagles forward is touted as one of the solutions to the Red Devils attacking troubles if Rashford leaves Old Trafford.

If the move sees the light of the day, Osimhen will become the first Nigerian player to feature for United since Odion Jude Igahlo.

The former Lille forward helped Napoli to their first Scudetto title since the era of Diego Maradona.

He capped it up with the 2023 Africa Player of the Year award ending Nigeria’s 24 year wait for the award.

His national teammate, Ademola Lookman retained the title this year after superb form for Italian side, Atalanta.
