Mohamed Salah set for Trabzonspor unveiling at Babara Park

Mohamed Salah will be presented as a Trabzonspor player at Babara Park on Thursday evening, just hours after arriving in Turkiye and completing the formalities of his move to the club.

Trabzonspor said the event would begin at 19:30 local time and invited supporters to attend wearing the club’s new-season shirts. The Turkish side described the occasion as an opportunity to “make history and take the first step in an unforgettable journey” alongside the Egypt captain.

The announcement followed Salah’s medical examination at Acibadem Maslak Hospital, Trabzonspor’s medical partner. The assessment was part of the process required to complete the transfer officially.

Salah arrived in Turkiye on Wednesday before Trabzonspor confirmed that the former Liverpool forward had joined the club on a free transfer. His contract with the English club had come to an end, bringing his nine-year spell at Anfield to a close.

Several Turkish media reports have said Salah has agreed a two-year contract with Trabzonspor. Those reports claim the deal will earn him an annual salary of €17m, along with a range of additional bonuses and benefits.

Trabzonspor had earlier issued guidance to supporters planning to welcome Salah at Trabzon Airport. The club asked fans not to use private cars when travelling to the airport, in an effort to prevent congestion.

It also urged supporters not to set off large numbers of flares. The request was made on public-safety grounds and to avoid any possible effect on air-traffic operations.

The presentation at Babara Park will mark the start of a new chapter for Salah after a highly successful period with Liverpool. During his time at the club, the Egypt international helped secure a series of domestic, continental and global honours.

He also established himself as one of the most prominent players in Liverpool’s history and in the Premier League, setting a succession of individual records and collecting numerous personal achievements during his time in England.

The presentation ceremony is expected to give Trabzonspor supporters their first opportunity to welcome their new signing publicly after the club confirmed the transfer. The event’s stated theme is the beginning of an “unforgettable journey” with Salah, who now moves into a new stage of his career after nine seasons with Liverpool.

Trabzonspor has called on its supporters to take part in the occasion in the club’s new shirts, with the gathering scheduled for 19:30 local time on Thursday at Babara Park.
