Monday Odigie assures fans of improved Bendel Insurance next season

Head Coach of Federation Cup champions, Insurance FC, Monday Odigie has reassured fans of the club that the team will challenge for honors and trophies in next football season.
Insurance ended the regular abridged NPFL season without defeat until the Super Six playoffs and they later went on to win the 2023 Federation Cup unbeaten, pipping Enugu Rangers 1-0 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
The win qualified the Benin Arsenal to represent Nigeria in CAF Confederation Cup next season and the former Golden Eaglets trainer reflected on his side’s campaign in the outgone season, while setting sights on a better 2024.
“It’s been a very tough season for us and we can only thank God that we got reward for all our hard work by winning the Federation Cup,” Odigie told CompleteSports.
“We were unbeaten in the abridged league but we lost our momentum in the Super Six and lost the title we so much wanted to win.
“Our players were fatigued and we don’t have a very large squad depth. It was a learning curve for us and I believe we can only get better next season.
“We won the Federation cup against Enugu Rangers because we were hungrier and wanted the cup more. We are happy to have qualified to play in the continent.
“Hopefully, we shall strengthen our team for double assault on domestic and continental titles.
“We shall try and improve our depth by recruiting quality and experienced players however, we thank God for rewarding our efforts we a trophy and by His grace we won’t fail the government and people of Edo state for their support” Odigie assured.
