By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The Nigerian U17 girls, known as the Flamingos, have arrived in Algiers for their second match against Algeria. They are focused on completing their goal of qualifying for the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup.

After a strong first match at Ikenne-Remo Stadium last Saturday, where they won by four goals, the Flamingos are confident they can secure their spot. The first leg left them in a good position to advance.

This upcoming game will be held on Friday at Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida, Algeria. The Flamingos aim to confirm their victory and earn their place in the World Cup finals, set for Morocco from October 17th to November 8th, 2025.

This year, the tournament is expanding to include 24 teams. Africa will have five representatives, including the host nation, Morocco.

The Flamingos want to demonstrate their talent on the world stage. Winning this match will bring them closer to their dream of competing at the World Cup.

Their journey has been filled with strong performances and persistence. They have beaten tough opponents and shown great skill throughout qualifying.

With a large lead from the first match, the Flamingos are confident they can finish the job. They are ready to make Nigeria proud at the World Cup.
