Moses Odubajo Anticipates February Comeback Following Prolonged Injury Hiatus

In a compelling bid to reclaim his position on the field, former England U-20 defender Moses Odubajo, born in Nigeria, is charting a course for a triumphant return to full training in February. The 24-year-old athlete has faced an extended period of absence from competitive games since the memorable Championship play-off final victory against Sheffield Wednesday in May 2016, when a bizarre injury on the eve of the subsequent season thwarted his Premier League debut.

Originally curtailed by a dislocated kneecap, Odubajo’s ambition was further deferred by two subsequent setbacks, amounting to a staggering 17 months on the sidelines. Despite these setbacks, the right-back remains undeterred, expressing optimism about the prospect of resuming full training by the close of the coming month.

“I’m due to see the specialist at the end of January, and hopefully, it will be good news for a return-to-play date,” Odubajo shared with the Hull Daily Mail. “I’m doing some training outdoors now, which is good, and I’m always around the boys again. Over the Christmas period, there’ll be a little bit of rest, but then get ready to go again in the New Year.”

As the festive season beckons, Odubajo, who is still eligible to represent Nigeria, having not been capped by England at the senior level, remains hopeful. His dedication to recovery is evident in his statement, “I’m only looking forward now, and fingers crossed I’ll be making my return before the end of the season. Only time will tell, but I’m optimistic. I just feel like it’s only a matter of time before things go my way.”

Hull, currently occupying the 19th position in the Championship with 22 points, eagerly anticipates the return of Odubajo, a sentiment shared by fans and teammates alike.
