Moses Simon Aims for Super Eagles Return Amid Tough International Challenges

Nigerian winger Moses Simon eagerly anticipates rejoining the Super Eagles squad ahead of their forthcoming international friendlies against Poland and Serbia, seeking to reclaim his place in the team after missing recent encounters, as reported by Completesportsnigeria.com.

Expressing his anticipation, Simon, a prominent figure in the Super Eagles’ lineup, acknowledged missing the team’s recent fixtures against Algeria in a World Cup qualifier and Argentina in a friendly, emphasizing his readiness to compete for his spot once more.

“I missed the last two games and I can’t wait to join them in Wroclaw,” Simon expressed to CSN, highlighting the collective goal of the team to perform cohesively and bring joy to Nigerian supporters.

With tough clashes against Poland and Serbia on the horizon, Simon emphasized the significance of these fixtures in shaping the team’s readiness. He affirmed his preparedness to compete for his position within the squad, anticipating rigorous challenges ahead.

Away from international duties, Simon addressed Gent’s aspirations in the Belgian League, stressing the necessity for clinical finishing and tactical astuteness to topple Anderlecht and clinch the league title this season. Gent recently secured a spot in the play-offs after finishing fourth in the Belgian regular season, defeating Genk 2-1 on the final matchday.

“It’s going to be tough but to win the league we must take our chances and ensure we stay compact in defending,” Simon remarked, highlighting the team’s approach to navigate the demanding play-off stage alongside formidable contenders such as Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Standard Liège, Genk, and Sporting Charleroi.

Simon’s return to full fitness after an eight-week hiatus due to a knee injury adds to Gent’s optimism as they aim to compensate for a challenging campaign with a potential league triumph, setting their sights on a strong finish in the Belgian Jupiler League play-offs.
