The Northern Amateur Women Football Association (NAWFA) has extended its profound appreciation to the Government of Adamawa State for honouring Coach Justine Madugu, esteemed head coach of the Nigeria’s senior women’s national team and one of NAWFA’s most respected stakeholders.

The recognition—comprising a three-bedroom bungalow and a ₦50 million reward—is a well-deserved tribute to Coach Madugu’s exceptional leadership, tactical brilliance, and unwavering dedication to the development of women’s football in Nigeria according to NAWFA.

“This gesture not only acknowledges Coach Madugu’s remarkable contributions, but also reflects the Adamawa State Government’s clear commitment to sports development and the empowerment of women through football,” NAWFA stated.

As a grassroots-oriented organization, NAWFA opined that it is particularly encouraged by the impact of Coach Madugu’s success, which continues to serve as an inspiration for countless young girls and aspiring female footballers across northern Nigeria and beyond.

With preparations underway for the upcoming NAWFA Cup in Adamawa State, the Association looks forward to deepened collaboration with the state government in identifying, nurturing, and promoting young female football talent —future stars who may one day wear the national colours as Super Falcons.

“We are confident that this recognition will inspire the next generation of players and further strengthen the foundation of women’s football in Adamawa State,” NAWFA added.

“We sincerely hope to count on the continued support of the government in ensuring the success of our programmes and the growth of the game.”

NAWFA remains committed to championing grassroots women’s football and applauds Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his visionary leadership in celebrating excellence and investing in the future of sports.
