Newcastle United Legend Shola Ameobi Inducted into Hall of Fame Alongside Les Ferdinand

In a momentous celebration of football heritage, former Newcastle United forward Shola Ameobi has achieved the prestigious honor of being inducted into the Newcastle United Foundation’s Hall of Fame. The momentous occasion unfolded at the Charity’s annual dinner on Tuesday, where Ameobi joined forces with former England international Les Ferdinand to cement their places in the pantheon of Newcastle United greats.
The announcement of Ameobi and Ferdinand’s induction occurred amidst the splendor of the 125 Years United Dinner held in Exhibition Park. The event, tastefully themed to commemorate Newcastle United’s 125th anniversary season, bore witness to the addition of two luminaries to an illustrious Hall of Fame, already graced by legends such as Alan Shearer, Jackie Milburn, Bob Moncur, Peter Beardsley, Kevin Keegan, and Sir Bobby Robson.
Shola Ameobi, a stalwart who dedicated 14 remarkable years to the Magpies, etched his name in the club’s history by scoring an impressive 53 goals in 312 appearances. His footballing prowess wasn’t confined to Tyneside, as the 36-year-old forward, a representative of England at youth levels, also featured prominently in the Nigerian squad during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Currently donning the colors of English League Two outfit Notts County, Ameobi continues to contribute to the beautiful game, exemplifying the enduring spirit that has earned him a place among the revered in the Newcastle United Foundation’s Hall of Fame.
