The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has promised to offer its unalloyed support to Nigerian teams representing the country on the continent.

Four teams including Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership champions, Delta Queens have qualified for African inter-club competitions, with Tosan Blankson’s side booking a ticket to the 2023 WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers of the CAF Women’s Champions League after reclaiming the Nigerian title on home soil on Sunday.

NFF Secretary General Doctor Mohammed Sanusi reiterated the country’s football governing body’s support to Nigeria representatives in their pursuits of success in the various continent’s interclub competitions.

“It’s not all about Delta Queens but about the team representing Nigeria now and the NFF will do everything possible to support them, especially in the area of technical and logistics support which NFF would help,” Sanusi told media.

“We have always called on our teams on the do’s and don’t in the continent. By the grace of God, I know they will represent Nigeria well.”

The NFF scribe praised Delta State Government and NWFL for a incredible Super Six championship in Asaba and expressed his excitement at the qualify of football artistry put on display between Bayelsa Queens and Delta Queens.

“The game was very exciting. I have always said that women’s football in Nigeria has come of age. What a man can do, a woman can do better,” Sanusi continued.

“We have seen the display of skills, stamina, endurance, and everything. Thanks to Delta State Government for sponsoring this competition and to the fans in Delta State for coming all out to watch women’s football.

“With this kind of display and artistry in football, in the future, you would see corporate organisations come to sponsor the league and women’s football.”

Meanwhile, Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Enyimba FC and runners-up, Remo Stars will represent Nigeria at the 2023/2024 CAF Champions League.

Former winners, Rivers United will take part in the CAF Confederation Cup after its third-place finish while Delta Queens will hoist the Nigeria flag at the WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers for a chance to take part in the third CAF Women’s Champions League in Ivory Coast later this year.
