Greek A Division outfit Panathinaikos have officially announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder Peace Efih. The club confirmed the transfer via an official statement, though contract duration and financial details remain undisclosed.
The 25-year-old midfielder arrives from fellow Greek side OFI Crete, where she enjoyed a prolific two-year stint, tallying 14 goals across 40 appearances.
Efih brings a wealth of domestic and international experience to The Greens. In Nigeria, she played for Edo Queens and Rivers Angels before embarking on an international club career with spells at Sporting de Huelva, Zaragoza CFF, Bayelsa Queens, Kiryat Gat, and Sporting de Braga.
At the international level, she represented Nigeria at both the 2016 U17 and 2018 U20 FIFA Women’s World Cups before earning her senior debut for the Super Falcons.
Speaking after her unveiling, Efih expressed her enthusiasm for the new chapter:
“I am very excited to have signed with Panathinaikos. I look forward to scoring many goals and helping the team achieve its main goal, which is winning the Championship. I can’t wait to get started.”
Her arrival adds to the Nigerian presence at Panathinaikos, joining Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers, who made his move to the Greek powerhouse from Rangers last summer.

Prior to his role at Goal.com, Samuel freelanced for various print and broadcast media outlets in Nigeria, including Graphics Newspaper, Radio Nigeria, Grace FM, and Savid Newspaper. His extensive experience and expertise led to his appointment to the Nigeria Football Federation's Standing Committee on Women's Football Development from 2016 to 2018. Since February 2018, Samuel has been the Social Media Manager for Nigeria's women's national teams.
In 2019, Samuel joined the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as a women's football content contributor and was promoted to Women's Football Editor in 2021. His contributions to women's football continued as he worked as a Media Consultant for Content Creation and Editorials at the 2022 CAF Women's Champions League. Currently, Samuel also serves as the spokesman for the Nigeria Women Football League, further solidifying his influence and dedication to the growth of women's football in Africa.
