Nigeria W 2-0 Cameroon W: Rasheedat Ajibade’s brace propels Super Falcons to victory over Indomitable Lionesses

Nigeria’s senior women’s national team secured a 2-0 win over Cameroon in a friendly match at MKO Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta on Tuesday.

A brace by captain, Rasheedat Ajibade separated both sides after 90 minutes.

She broke the deadlock in the 28th minute from the penalty spot.

The former Avaldnes player doubled the lead with a minute before the end of the first half.

The encounter was initially scheduled to be a two legged games with the first match scheduled for Saturday, May 31 at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun state but was reduced to one leg encounter.

Indomitable Lionesses late arrival led to the match to be scheduled for Monday, June 2 before the final decision by both Federation sanctioned by the Confederation of African Football for the game to take place on June 3.

Up next for Justine Madugu’s side is another friendly match against Portugal on June 26, 2026.

The friendly encounter is Super Falcons’ preparation for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in July.

They will face Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria at WAFCON 2024 group stage.
