The 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six now has a new date.
The season-ending Super Six will now hold from June 9 to 16, 2023, in Adaba, the capital of Delta State.
NWFL Chief Operating Officer (COO), Modupe Shabi affirmed the new date for the Super Six, in a circular from the NWFL Secretariat sent to all participating clubs on Tuesday.
Initially slated to kick off on Friday, May 5, and postponed indefinitely due to a clash with WAFU-B Women’s Cup, the league Champions will now be crowned on June 16.
Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Delta Queens, Edo Queens, FC Robo Queens, and Confluence Queens will battle it out for the League title at the Super Six tournament.
The league Champions will also represent Nigeria at the WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League and if it emerged victorious represent the zone at the main tournament.
Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens represented Nigeria at the first edition of the WAFU-B Zonal Qualifiers and they qualified for the first two editions of the CAF Women’s Champions League in Egypt and Morocco respectively.
