Nigerian Striker Sadiq Umar Secures Loan Move to NAC Breda from AS Roma

Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar has successfully completed a significant six-month loan deal with Dutch club NAC Breda, arriving from Italian side AS Roma, according to reports from Completesportsnigeria.com. The loan arrangement also includes an option for an additional year, highlighting the anticipation surrounding Umar’s potential impact on NAC Breda’s forward line.
Sadiq Umar, who spent the initial part of the season on loan at Torino, encountered challenges and managed only three appearances. The move to NAC Breda, as articulated by the club’s Technical Director Hans Smulders, aims to reinforce the team’s attacking prowess and intensify competition in the front line.
“In this winter transfer period, we wanted to add scoring power and increase the competition in the front, which was very successful with the arrival of Umar and Mitchell,” expressed Smulders on the club’s official website. He further elaborated on Sadiq’s talent, acknowledging his experience in a top-level competition.
As part of Nigeria’s U-23 team, Sadiq Umar played a pivotal role in securing a bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The striker now looks ahead to contributing his skills and experience to NAC Breda’s campaign in the Eredivisie.
NAC Breda, currently positioned 16th in the 18-team Eredivisie with 16 points from 19 games, has expressed the intention to extend Umar’s loan beyond the initial six months, aiming to secure his services until mid-2019.
