“Not on X” — NFF warns against fake Eric Chelle’s social media accounts
By Monsurah Olatunji

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has issued a stern warning regarding fake social media accounts impersonating Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle.

With the rise of misinformation and fraudulent activity on social media platforms, several accounts have popped up claiming to be Chelle, spreading misleading content and fueling rumors about the coach’s activities.

In a statement released on Saturday via X, the NFF made it clear that Chelle does not have an account on the platform and urged fans to be cautious of scams.

“The Super Eagles Head Coach, Eric Chelle, does not have an X account. His only official social media presence is on Instagram under the verified handle [@eric_chelle],” the statement clarified.

The NFF warned fans to exercise caution, particularly in light of the growing presence of impersonators online.

“Please be advised that Super Eagles Head Coach, Eric Chelle, does not possess an X account. Exercise caution and be wary of scams or any misleading information,” the NFF added.

Chelle, who took over the reins of the national team recently, led Nigeria to a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on March 21.

However, the Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe on March 25 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, narrowly missing out on a back-to-back win.

Fans are advised to follow only the verified Instagram account for authentic updates and news related to Chelle.
