NPFL 23: Samuel Kalu raring to get started with Enyimba

By Monsurah Olatunji

Enyimba FC forward Samuel Kalu is eager for a return to action after spending up to a month on the sidelines.
Kalu has been out since November while on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria for a friendly against Costa Rica.
Despite missing out out action in the Dozy Mmobuosi Preseason Super Cup, where the People Elephants finished as runners-up, the forward is set to be in good shape ahead of the season kickoff having now returned to training.
“It has been difficult for me because I hate injuries,” Kalu told the club website.
“I hate sitting out of training and matches but when you’re injured, you cannot help it. I just love to be on the pitch all the time, training or match. Football is the only thing I do, so when I am unable to play, it makes me feel sad.
“I know how difficult it was for me when the team went for the Super Cup in Lagos. I couldn’t travel with the team because of the injury, so I just watched the matches online.
“But I’m happy that I can train now and I am getting better. By the time the season begins, I should be ready.”
