NPFL: Barau FC denies Ladan Bosso’s resignation reports ahead of Kano derby

By Oluwdamilola Olaleye

Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Barau FC has refuted widespread rumors claiming that head coach Ladan Bosso has resigned or been dismissed from his position.

The Kano-based club issued an official statement urging fans and the public to disregard circulating reports on social media, affirming that Bosso remains firmly in charge of the team.

Speculation about Bosso’s supposed departure surfaced earlier in the day and quickly gained traction online. However, Barau FC’s management moved swiftly to set the record straight.

“The management of Barau FC has denied reports circulating on social media regarding the dismissal or resignation of Ladan Bosso,” the club’s statement read. “Ladan Bosso is still the technical adviser of Barau FC.”

The team is currently preparing for their NPFL Matchday 9 clash against city rivals Kano Pillars, scheduled to take place behind closed doors at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kofarmata this Sunday.

The fixture is expected to be a fiercely contested derby despite the absence of supporters in the stands.

Reports had also suggested that Rabi’u Tata had been appointed as interim technical adviser following Bosso’s alleged exit for family reasons.

The Kano-based club has since dismissed these claims, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining stability as it pursues a strong finish in its debut top-flight campaign.

Barau FC continues to rally behind Bosso as they gear up for one of the season’s most significant matches.
