Sunshine Stars coach Kennedy Boboye has expressed frustration over his team’s inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities this season.
Despite a hard-fought 1-0 victory against defending NPFL champions Enugu Rangers, Boboye was concerned about his team’s profligacy in front of goal, acknowledging that they had missed several chances that could have resulted in a more decisive win.
“The most important thing is the three points,” Boboye said after the match.
“It was a good game, but we need to address our finishing. We could have won this match by four or five goals, and it would have been fully deserved.”
Boboye emphasized the team’s persistent struggle with finishing throughout the season.
“There’s no game we’ve played where we haven’t missed clear goal-scoring opportunities,” he noted.
“We will go back to the drawing board and focus on improving our conversion rate. It’s something we need to work on if we are to achieve better results going forward.”
With the victory, Sunshine Stars are looking to build momentum, but Boboye is adamant that they cannot afford to waste chances if they want to be competitive in the league.
