NPFL boss Gbenga Elegbeleye promises clubs shares of TV rights revenue

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye has promised the league clubs of their imminent share or percentage of the TV rights money.
Startimes was recently announced as the official broadcaster of the NPFL matches with a mouthwatering five billion naira running for five-year deal.
The NPFL boss disclosed, an agreement will be reached with the clubs on the exact share from the TV rights that’s due to them at a meeting that will be convened in Abuja.
The league body chief said the clubs would receive their money latest two days after the proposed meeting in Abuja after all agreements or arrangements have been met.
“We are convening a meeting next week in Abuja with the club chairmen,” Elegbeleye told the Press.
“The distribution of shares from the television deal will be a key agenda item, ensuring every team receives their deserved allocation within a day or two following the meeting.”
NPFL reached a groundbreaking agreement with Cable network, Startimes on broadcasting the league’s matches at the start of the season.
