The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Club Owners Association have assured the new Minister of Sports development, Senator John Enoh of the association’s support in discharging his duties.
The club owners chairman, Chief Okey Kpalukwu said the new sport minister needs the support of all relevant football stakeholders to succeed with the right people behind him.
He advised Senator Enoh to pay more attention to the management of the Nigeria topflight league because of the positive effect it will have on the country’s footballing image as he confidently assured that Nigeria sports is in safe hands.
“On behalf of Football Club Owners Association of Nigeria, I want to congratulate the new Sports Development Minister, distinguished Senator John Enoh and to assure him of our support in this huge assignment of taking the game to the next level,” the Rivers United manager said in a statement.
“It’s a tough assignment no doubt but from what I’ve read and in my interaction with other members, it’s obvious that what he needs to succeed is our support and to have the right people around him.
“There’s no denying the fact that the new Minister of Sports Development, Senator Enoh should be encouraged to pay serious attention to the NPFL because if it’s well run or managed, it will reflect positively on our country’s football both on the continent and on the national teams. From his cv and as a former legislator, I am confident that as a businessman, sports is safe in his hands.”
Senator Enoh is an accomplished politician, farmer and businessman. He’s a former gubernatorial candidate in Cross River that lost to Senator Ben Ayade in 2019 general elections.
