NPFL: Edo Government backs Bendel Insurance to bounce back at Sunshine Stars

Players and officials of Bendel Insurance have been charged to ward off worries of their last Nigeria Premier Football League defeat and focus on their next assignments.
The Benin Arsenals bowed 1-0 at home to Abia Warriors last time out and they will be hoping to bounce back to reckoning against Sunshine Stars in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday.
The Edo State Sports Commission Chairman, Yusuf Alli on his visit to training on Thursday, said victory over Sunshine Stars is more important than their defeat to Abia Warriors.
“I am here to encourage you to put the thoughts of the home defeat behind you and have one hundred percent concentration for the next match,” Alli said.
“Go to Ijebu-Ode and win to fully recover from last weekend’s setback. I must tell you the truth that we are not happy with the results we are getting.
“There is a growing concern among stakeholders about our performance and current situation in the league. We have done all that is required for you to succeed, and it is not showing.
“However, we want to believe that soon we will rise above the challenges and find our rhythm and winning mentality. Don’t feel despair, but continue to work hard and avoid distractions.
“You guys are good; it is just little mistakes we are making that are affecting us, and we can correct them.”
