NPFL: Fifa lifts transfer ban on Katsina United

World football ruling body, Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has closed proceedings against Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Katsina United.

In the process, a tranfer ban imposed on the Club have been lifted on registering new players.

Creditor, Mahamadou Souley Salamoun confirmed receipt of the outstanding amounts from the Club in accordance with Fifa’s decision which ensured the cancellation of the ban.

Consequently, FIFA has requested the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to lift the ban on Katsina United at national level.

The team can now register new players and participate in national competitions without any restrictions.

Katsina United ended seventh at the end of the 2023/2024 NPFL season with 55 points.

They will start their 2024/2025 league campaign at Plateau United.

Meanwhile, the club had earlier unveiled four players ahead of next season. They are Sa’Idu Adamu, Ismail Muhammad Nasir, Auwal Muhammed Adamu, and Abdullahi Musa.
