NPFL: Kennedy Boboye targets improved league standing despite Heartland struggle
By Saheed Afolabi
Heartland FC head coach, Kennedy Boboye has set his target on leading the club outside the relegation waters.
The Naze Millionaires got their second win of the NPFL season with a slim lone goal victory over Akwa United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
Boboye said the lack of goal-scoring ability is hindering the club from getting good result which he’s sure of solving, while lamenting lack of ill-luck wasn’t on their side when the season started.
“It bothers me because it’s a Nigeria problem, not just Heartland issue but we keep working during our training sessions in goal scoring activities,” Boboye told the Press.
“The most important thing is the three points. We have gotten that and this one is done and dusted. We are looking forward to our game in Gombe with Doma United. We will keep pushing because we need to get out from where we are in no time.
“The team is not a bad team. It’s a team that started and ran out of luck but when you watch them play, you definitely know they are not a bad team.”
Heartland have 13 points from 14 matches to seat on the 18th position in the league table. They travel to face high flying Doma United in Gombe in their next game on Wednesday, December 20.
