NPFL: Kun Khalifat appoints ex-International Ifeanyi Anaemena as Sporting Director

By Wale Mustapha

Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, Kun Khalifat, have named former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Anaemena as their new Sporting Director.

The Owerri-based side earned promotion to the top flight following a strong showing at the Super 8 playoffs held in Asaba last season.

Anaemena, who recently played for Remo Stars, played a pivotal role in helping the Sky Blue Stars clinch their maiden NPFL title in the 2024/25 season. His distinguished career includes stints with Giwa FC, Enyimba, and Rivers United, as well as a spell abroad with Saudi club Al-Nahda.

Kun Khalifat are banking on Anaemena’s wealth of experience as they gear up for their first-ever season in Nigeria’s top flight.

The club will begin their NPFL campaign with an Oriental derby clash against Enugu Rangers at the Awka City Stadium on Matchday One.
