NPFL: Kwara United show 22 players exit door ahead of top recruits

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Kwara United have released not less than 22 players from the team.

The Club management made this announcement ahead of the 2024/2025 league season.

Speaking on this, Bashir Badawiy, General Manager of the club said that additional top stars from the NPFL have been recruited to fortify the club ahead of next season.

He said this while addressing players and coaching crew of the club on Monday.

The GM said top quality players have agreed to join the team and called on the players to eschew indiscipline and work inline with the philosophy of the club and target ending next season among the top three.

“Our expectation in the 2024/25 NPFL season is to finish among top three, we don’t want to struggle again; check our records in the last two seasons, we were among the top four and even qualified for continental,” he said.

Kwara United will be participating in the next Valuejet Preseason tournament holding in Ikenne, Ogun State, from 24th of this month

At the end of the 2023/2024 campaign, the Harmony Boys finished the season in the 13th position with 51 points, five points and four places above the relegation zone.

The head coach of the team, Kabiru Dogo hopes to avoid the mistakes of last two seasons by getting experienced players that will help the team fight for continental places next season.
