NPFL: Lobi Stars bolster squad with 15 new players

Makurdi based Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Club, Lobi Stars have signed 15 new players ahead of the 2024/2025 season.
Five out of the 15 players were discovered from the grassroots after the tour of local governments in Benue State.
They are Aondoyavenga Japheth (Makurdi local government), Terna Peter Yoonen (Gboko local government), Komgbenda Joseph (Vandeikya local government), Hilega Bemshima (Makurdi local government), and Torkuma Gyenkwe (Gboko local government).
Amongst the top signing is Ossy Martins who joined the team from fellow NPFL outfit, Remo Stars.
Experienced goalkeeper from Gombe United, Akor Itodo is also amongst the new recruits alongside Matthew Arinze from Abia Warriors.
Other top acquisitions include Baba Tunde from Akwa United, Jide Williams from Bendel Insurance, and Valentine Igiga from Gombe United.
Ifeanyi Assurance joined from Bayelsa United, Segun Oluwatoba from Ijebu United, Jimmy Iteji from Plateau United, and Samuel Aniefok from Doma United were the other new signings.
The Club Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dominic Iorfa disclosed that the new players passed their medicals and certified to play for the top flight side.
He asserted that the management of the Club is committed to bringing smiles to the faces of fans, supporters and the people of Benue State.
Iorfa said that the signing of the new players will bolster the team’s resolve to compete and challenge for honors in the coming season.
