NPFL: Lobi Stars names former MFM FC gaffer as new coach

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

There has been a change of guard at Lobi Stars as the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2024/25 season gets to the business end.

Tony Tope Bulus has been named the club’s head coach following Mohammed Baba Ganaru’s departure after 3 matches without a win.

Bulus will be in charge of the Benue State-owned team until the end of the season.

The coach was in charge of the former NPFL side, MFM FC, as he replaced Rangers International FC manager Fidelis Ilechukwu.

He also managed Vandrezzer FC in the Nigeria National League (NNL) and won the Lagos State FA Cup with the team.

After three coaches this season, Bulus became Lobi Stars’ third manager.

Lobi Stars hope to escape relegation with 10 matches remaining for the season to end.

They sit bottom of the log with 23 points after 28 games in the NPFL.
