NPFL: Magin criticizes Niger Tornadoes’ lackluster display in Nasarawa United loss
By Wale Mustapha
Mohammed Magin, the Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes, has expressed his disappointment with his team’s poor performance following their 2-0 loss to Nasarawa United on Sunday.
The Ikon Allah Boys, who had been expected to perform strongly, fell far below their usual standard in the Matchday 22 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) held in Lafia.
Despite being regarded as favourites going into the game, Niger Tornadoes were caught off guard by Nasarawa United’s high-energy performance.
A visibly frustrated Magin admitted that his players failed to deliver on the day, acknowledging that the superior team emerged victorious.
“I am really surprised by how my boys performed today. Perhaps they underestimated Nasarawa United,” Magin said.
“The result shows that Nasarawa needed the points more than we did. They came out aggressively right from the first whistle, putting us under immense pressure.
“We conceded an early goal, and from that moment, it became increasingly difficult to recover as the game went on,” he added.
