NPFL: Mass exodus hit Sunshine Stars after relegation escape

By Saheed Afolabi

Sunshine Stars are vigorously working to retain their key players as they prepare for the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Despite facing challenges to maintain their NPFL status, the Akure based club has issued a stern warning to players under contract about the consequences of leaving without proper authorization.

In a statement on social media, Sunshine Stars emphasized their determination to keep hold of their best talents.

They clarified that none of their contracted players are currently in negotiations with other teams, signaling their commitment to building a competitive squad for the new season.

Sunshine Stars concluded the last NPFL season in tenth place, accumulating 52 points from 38 games.

As they gear up for the next campaign, their focus on retaining key assets underscores their ambition to improve upon their previous performance and achieve success in the league.
