NPFL MD18 Wrap: Remo, Enyimba, and Sunshine complete Super Six party

Remo Stars, Enyimba FC, and Sunshine Stars joined Bendel Insurance, Rivers United, and Lobi Stars in qualifying for the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super Six after the end of the regular season on Sunday.
Remo Stars in Ikenne thrashed Kwara United 4-0 to finish in the second position in Group A.
The triumph came through first-half goals from Andy Okpe, Odunsi Oluwaseun, and Philip Odubia’s brace lifted the Sky Blue Stars to a consecutive top-three finish.
In Ibadan, Enyimba FC also made it to the Super Six despite playing out a 0-0 draw with Shooting Stars.
Akwa United’s 1-0 win over Gombe United at the Pantami Stadium wasn’t enough to see the former league champions through to the Super Six despite James Ajako’s 30th-minute goal.
Sunshine Stars picked the final Super Six slot from Group B after a 3-0 victory against relegated Dakkada FC.
Goals from Michael Olulasi, Achi Nnaemeka, and Ekerette Udom sealed a big win and a place in the Super Six.
Elsewhere, Bendel Insurance finished the league regular season unbeaten after playing out a 1-1 draw with relegated Nasarawa United.
Deputy Echeta’s 28th-minute goal for the Benin Arsenals was canceled by Chinedu Ohanachom’s 52nd-minute equaliser.
Bayelsa United escaped relegation with a 2-0 win over Niger Tornadoes thanks to goals from Alex Oyowah and Wisdom Ikechi Stephen.
Rivers United in Enugu forced Rangers International to a 1-1 draw as Ebube Duru’s 53rd-minute goal canceled out Samuel Pam’s opener for Rangers.
El-kanemi Warriors also played out a 2-2 draw with Plateau United as Ugoh Ujah and Hussaini Mohammed scored for the hosts after Ibrahim Mustapha opened the scoring for Plateau United.
Wikki Tourist will play next season in second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) despite its 2-0 win over Lobi Stars in Makurdi.
Abubakar Aliyu Ibrahim and Adumuminu Sehu scored for Wikki Tourist.
