NPFL: Michael Ibe hails Katsina United for ‘tough’ win over Bendel Insurance

Katsina United’s attacking midfielder, Michael Ibe has commended his teammates for putting extra efforts that earned them a slender 1-0 win over Insurance FC in the Nigeria Premier Football League tie in Katsina on Saturday.
The two teams canceled each other out in the first half as the visitors formed a shield in defense to ward off threats from Katsina United at Mohammed Dikko Stadium, marking Abubakar Bala’s first game in charge of Chanji Boys.
The deadlock was broken with 15 minutes from time as Chidera Eze converted from the spot to hand Katsina the lead and eventually the victory.
Ibe had admitted that it was a difficult match, and has thanked the fans for pushing the team through the match with their cheers just he promised them more victories as season progress.
“Many thanks to the fans for their amazing support, we felt their push from the stands and it helped us get through,” Ibe told Nigeriafootball.ng after the match.
“We laboured to get this win, we could have won with more goals but you know Insurance are not an easy team to break.
“I give kudos to the boys for this win, we truly deserve it and I wish we continue on this path to make our fans happy the more.”
Katsina United have gained an appreciable position on the log and will next be taking on Enyimba FC in Aba for the Matchday 15.
